At 20 weeks, I finally saw...

...the baby kick/nudge me!!!

It was a usual week night...I was hanging out in the bedroom, watching one of my favorite tv shows, Dancing With The Stars, while Roy was two doors down in the office playing one of his favorite online games, World of Warcraft (what I like to call "Dungeons and Dragons"), when out of no where, I felt a kick or a nudge.

Lets quickly flashback to 4 weeks prior...

At 16 weeks pregnant, I felt the first flutter. Being pregnant for the first time, I wasn't sure if this flutter was the baby moving, or some flatulence a-rumbling, but as days and weeks passed, the flutters got stronger and stronger. I was convinced it was Baby saying hello...making him/herself known.

Ok, back to last night...

After I felt the first kick or nudge, I thought, wow, that's stronger than normal. I looked down at my tummy, and I couldn't believe my eyes, right next to my belly button, I SAW MY TUMMY MOVE! I just stared in amazement, and it happened again! For some reason, I thought if I pushed the same spot with my fingers, maybe I'd see it move again...so you know what happened when I did? Baby pushed back!!! I immediately popped my head out of the bedroom and told Roy that he was missing some major movement from the baby. For weeks now, he's been holding his face up to my belly every night saying, "Kick me in the face, baby! Kick me in the face! This is the only time I'm gonna let you do this!" But nothing. Now, I was SURE the baby would kick him in the face! BUT I couldn't rip him away from that damn computer! He was in the middle of some mission with his dorky online friends. Can you believe that?! Oh well, to be honest, that's the least of my problems. So I went back to bed, and enjoyed the continued movement. Baby was extremely active...it was one of the coolest, most memorable moments. One that has inspired me to finally post my very first, very overdue, blog.
